Dr. Haidee Copeland

Chief Learning Officer

Dr. Copeland is responsible for design, development and implementation of GPA’s curriculum. She and her team of state certified schoolteachers work to develop and always enhance the GPA lessons and problems to challenge and engage children. She brings over thirteen years of experience within the field of education, as an adjunct education facility member for the University of Oregon classroom teacher and classroom teacher. Haidee’s past duties have included teaching/supervising pre-licensure teachers, curricula design, and providing consulting services for students/families and educators across grade levels (prekindergarten through transition).

Prior to GPA, Haidee was an adjunct faculty member for the University of Oregon’s Department of Special Education and Clinical Services, and an associate research scientist for IRIS Educational Media. She taught both graduate and undergraduate education courses in Special Education, Behavior Management, Mathematics and English Language Arts. Her fieldwork included supervising and supporting prelisensure, and returning certified teachers in prekindergarten to transition classrooms. She also served as a research scientist on several education grants to help children, their families and their educators lead better/healthier lives.

Haidee is a seasoned classroom teacher, with experience teaching in Oregon and around the world. She currently holds dual education licensure for pre-primary through 12th grade in Advanced Mathematics and Exceptional Learner.

Dr. Copeland holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Oregon, a Masters of Education in Special Education from University of Oregon and Bachelor’s degrees in both Mathematics and Business with emphasis in Computer Science from Southern Oregon State College.

Along with her GPA responsibilities, Haidee also overachieves at being a wife and mother (two sons). Completing her cast are the “furry-people” – Diego, Jingle Bell, Annie and Gus.
